Cleansing products for oily skin

Still searching for my favourite cleansing oil/balm but I think I have found my favourite foam cleanser-Shiseido Deep Cleansing Foam  Update:20/02/17 I still love the Shiseido Deep Cleansing Foam, but I also enjoy The History of Whoo  Gongjinhyang foam cleanser.
A cleansing oil that I love right now is Sulwhasoo Gently cleansing oil EX. Expect reviews of those two products in the future.

Products reviewed in this blog post:
Banila Co Clean it Zero cleansing balm
Shiseido Pureness Deep Cleansing Foam
Cosrx Salicylic Acid Exfoliating foaming cleanser

Other products mentioned:
Heimish Natural aroma all clean cleansing balm
Sulwhasoo cleansing oil
Manyo factory Deep pore cleansing soda foam
The History of Whoo Gongjinhyang cleansing foam
Innisfree green tea balancing cleansing oil
Manyo Factory soothing active fresh peel ( in the photo below, but I haven't tried it yet) Update: 20/02/17 I did try it and I can't say that I am amazed by it. But it's scent was lovely.

I've used the Banila Co Clean it zero cleansing balm for the past 5 months and I  enjoy it. The texture of this balm in delicate pink is as soft as slightly melted coconut butter. There is just a hint of flowery scent. Spreading it onto my face feels very pleasant. I could massage my face with it for hours. When I rinse it off it turns milky. Once I've rinsed it off my face, I always feel that it is not necessary to follow with a foam cleanser. That is because it makes my skin feel clean and refined but not tight. Nevertheless, I always follow with a foam cleanser.

There are tons of reviews on this cleansing balm and some pretty knowledgeable people go into detail about the ingredients. I will include links below. Apparently this cleansing balm contains mineral oil. I didn't know about that because I haven't looked at the ingredients. I made my purchase after watching several Best Korean Skincare products videos where it was included.  But apparently mineral oil is not considered a skin loving ingredient. I found an interesting blog post that you might like to read.  Review of Banila Co cleansing balm and about mineral oil

Although I enjoy using this cleansing balm and I think that it removes my make up really well, I'd like to try other cleansing oils because Banila Co clean it zero does sting my eyes. Not a lot, but enough for me to want to try other similar cleansing products. The interesting thing is that most people report that they don't have a problem using it on their eyes, but I do. A couple of weeks ago, I watched a video where a Youtuber had the same experience with it as me and she has now switched to Heimish Natural aroma all clean cleansing balm. I haven't tried it yet but I'd like to. I found it on eBay and it wasn't cheap. So Heimish will have to wait not only because it is expensive, but also because my next cleansing oil to try is going to be Sulwhasoo Cleansing oil.  Update: 20/02/17 I've been using the Sulwhasoo Cleansing oil for about a week or so and absolutely love it.  Stay tuned for a review on that product sometime in the future.

Now about Cosrx Salicylic acid exfoliating foaming cleanser. I don't enjoy using it at all. It is such a shame really, because salicylic acid is a great ingredient, but the product just doesn't smell nice at all. Even though cleansing takes just a few seconds, I really dislike the medicinal scent of the product. I use it on my body instead and can't wait to finish it off. But a little goes a long way as with most Korean foam cleansers. But you shouldn't be put off by my review of this product, if you really want to give it a try - go ahead. There are tons of people that really enjoy this product.

Now about a few products that I've tried once or twice and I'd like to mention. I received some Innisfree green tea balancing cleansing oil samples and enjoyed them. Lovely scent and it did the job of cleansing well. But oil does run down my hands, so I would prefer a balm. Update: 20/02/17 The Sulwhasoo cleansing oil is amazing, but if it was in a balm form, I think that would have been even more amazing.  I have also tried Manyo factory Deep pore cleansing soda foam. That was one extremely lovely foam. I enjoyed the light scent and the wonderfully clean but not tight feeling afterwards. I thought that I'd like to purchase the full size, but then I tried The History of Whoo Gongjinhyang cleansing foam and that was just pure pleasure. I was smitten. So soft and calming on my skin. It is not easy to explain how perfectly comforted my skin felt after cleansing. It kind of felt as if not just cleansing was done, but toning and moisturizing. My skin felt cleansed, refreshed, toned, nourished and moisturized all at the same time. I had several samples of this product and cherished using them. Update:20/02/17 I have purchased the product so please await a review on it.

And now, I have left the best for last- Shiseido Pureness Deep cleansing foam. I have used it for many months and still have lots of product left. I love trying different products, but I think this foam may well become a staple in my skin care. It is that amazing. Everything about it is great. From the scent and lovely application to how my skin feels after I use it-I love it all. From the Pureness line I enjoyed the toner and the foam cleanser the most. I would repurchase the toner, but before that I wanted to try this super interesting toner with Centella Asiatica. The claims are that it is as potent as an ampoule. I am so excited and can't wait to receive it. Update: 20/02/17 I have been using the Centella Asiatica toner now for about a month. It applies like water, it has no scent and I can't really tell if it has done anything good for my skin. My skin is much better in general in terms of acne scars and discoloration, but I use tons of good products...Chances are I will be trying other Centella Asiatica products in the future.

Galactomyces & Bifidalacto Complex products+ Several UPDATES

Did I like using Manyo Factory Galactomyces niacin?

No. I will not repurchase Manyo Factory Galactomycesniacin again.

UPDATE:31/08/17 It has been 7 months since I wrote this post and in that time I've learnt that Niacin is a very well researched skin loving ingredient. I will be purchasing products containing Niacin :-) and hoping it will "shrink" my pores.

UPDATE:28/11/2017 As mentioned in my previous update, I wanted to try a Niacin product and I chose Dr.Troub Skin Returning Niaten serum with 10% Niacinamide. I've been using it for 2 weeks now and so far so good. I think my pores look more refined, but it could be my wishful thinking that is tricking my eyes. Sadly, this product is only 30ml and at almost £20, I would not be repurchasing it. I hear that The Ordinary have a nice Niacinamide serum and cheaper.

Observations about applying the product and how it felt on the skin

Applying it (Manyo Factory Galactomycesniacin) felt like applying water. No scent, no colour,…

Best calming cream for acne prone skin- Sulwhasoo Herblinic EX Restorative Ampoules review

I first heard about the Sulwhasoo range from one of my favourite Youtubers- Lili. Her blog title is I am a beauty junky and that is also the name of her YouTube channel. I don't remember her reviewing the Herblinic EX Restorative Ampoules but when I researched several Sulwhasoo products she talked about, I found a couple of reviews on Herblinic and was intrigued enough to order samples from Ebay.  I bought 30 samples and they lasted me 15 days ( using them day and night).

From the very first application, my skin was nourished like never before. I could tell that this was one amazing product.

This honey like cream/serum is apparently packed with medicinal herbs which are said to  help nourish and  repair damaged skin. It smells herby and to me that scent is calming. It looks like honey but it spreads easily and little goes a long way. The application can be a bit sticky, but I don't mind that. One sample is enough for my face and neck.

After I used the first 30 samples, my skin…

Review: Naruko Tea tree shine control & blemish clear night gelly

As I am writing this blog post, I glance at the empty tub of the Naruko Tea tree night gelly ( that is the actual spelling on the tub)  I can't bare to throw it away yet. I absolutely loved using it.

But before I tell you anything else about this product, I must tell you this:  This was the best smelling skin care product I have ever used. I bet you are surprised. After all it is called a Tea tree night gelly and as we know tea tree doesn't smell nice at all. But this product does not smell of tea tree oil. Ok, may be there is just a hint of tea tree, but a nice smelling one. To be precise, the gelly smells like a fresh spring morning: crisp and cool, delicately scented as snowdrops  and with a gentle hint of mint. That's why I can't bare to throw away the empty tub yet, I keep on sniffing it...

The gelly applies smoothly and it feels very cool on the skin.  I didn't like that at first because I prefer skin care products that feel warm or at least not cool. But I go…
