Korean skin essences

The Time Revolution First Treatment Essence by Missha is one of my very first Korean skin care products. I remember purchasing it from Amazon and I bought it together with the Time Revolution Night Repair ampoule. After a couple of days of use, my skin looked transformed. Not in a big way. My acne scars, large pores and discolorations were all still there. But my skin looked  well rested and youthful. I am amazed by both products and I would be repurchasing them again and again.

Update:20/02/17 There are so many wonderful products to try, to be honest, I will not be repurchasing the above products any time soon. Even if I do, I would go for the Night Repair ampoule, not the first treatment essence....

At the moment I don't use the Night repair ampoule because I use Sulwhasoo Herblinic ampoule which I absolutely love. Both the Time Revolution essence and ampoule have incredible ingredients and at the end of this post I include a brilliant video for you to watch if interested in the ingredients.

Now about Innisfree Green Tea Fresh essence. I was interested in this product because I read that Green tea extract balances oily skin. I will give you a link to read the article about that. So, excited at the prospect to balance my extremely oily skin I bought this essence and the Innisfree Green tea Fresh cream from eBay and could hardly wait to get them - I had such high expectations.

But when they arrived, I used them two days in a row and never again. Now I use them only on my neck and shoulders. Why? Both products are insanely moisturizing. I mean, insanely. How is that even possible? You might say, well, moisture is great, but I bet  you wouldn't want the residue that these products leave. After use, my face looked wet throughout the day!  Throughout the day I had to pat my skin because it was so shiny, wet, and sweaty looking. I wasn't sweating but it looked as if I was. All day long! Not nice...

On one hand I was very disappointed in the products, but on the other hand, I had never tried anything this moisturizing before so it was an interesting experience. Now I use both products on my neck, decollate and shoulders and my skin loves them. It is quite amazing really that at the end of the day, my skin is so soft and moisturized as if I had just applied a cream and as if I had drank lots of water...which I don't.   Click here to read the article on Green tea for acne and oily skin from www.acneeinstein.com

A wonderful essence I want to mention is The History of Whoo Qi & Jin Essence. I received several samples and fell in love with the whole line of products. The essence felt wonderful. I am nearly done with Missha Time revolution essence and I plan on getting The History of Whoo essence instead. So stay tuned, I will write about it again sometime in March 2017. Update 20/02/17 I am using The History of Whoo essence and I am loving it. Absolutely lovely product! Stay tuned for a review.

Going back to the wonderful Missha Time revolution essence. I know that both the essence and the night ampoule have incredible skin benefiting ingredients and to hear more about those you might enjoy the video from Chronically Fabulous- a wonderfully smart and friendly YouTuber. Watch the video below- but get yourself a notebook and a pen. This lady is so knowledgeable and explains it so well :-)

Galactomyces & Bifidalacto Complex products+ Several UPDATES

Did I like using Manyo Factory Galactomyces niacin?

No. I will not repurchase Manyo Factory Galactomycesniacin again.

UPDATE:31/08/17 It has been 7 months since I wrote this post and in that time I've learnt that Niacin is a very well researched skin loving ingredient. I will be purchasing products containing Niacin :-) and hoping it will "shrink" my pores.

UPDATE:28/11/2017 As mentioned in my previous update, I wanted to try a Niacin product and I chose Dr.Troub Skin Returning Niaten serum with 10% Niacinamide. I've been using it for 2 weeks now and so far so good. I think my pores look more refined, but it could be my wishful thinking that is tricking my eyes. Sadly, this product is only 30ml and at almost £20, I would not be repurchasing it. I hear that The Ordinary have a nice Niacinamide serum and cheaper.

Observations about applying the product and how it felt on the skin

Applying it (Manyo Factory Galactomycesniacin) felt like applying water. No scent, no colour,…

Best calming cream for acne prone skin- Sulwhasoo Herblinic EX Restorative Ampoules review

I first heard about the Sulwhasoo range from one of my favourite Youtubers- Lili. Her blog title is I am a beauty junky and that is also the name of her YouTube channel. I don't remember her reviewing the Herblinic EX Restorative Ampoules but when I researched several Sulwhasoo products she talked about, I found a couple of reviews on Herblinic and was intrigued enough to order samples from Ebay.  I bought 30 samples and they lasted me 15 days ( using them day and night).

From the very first application, my skin was nourished like never before. I could tell that this was one amazing product.

This honey like cream/serum is apparently packed with medicinal herbs which are said to  help nourish and  repair damaged skin. It smells herby and to me that scent is calming. It looks like honey but it spreads easily and little goes a long way. The application can be a bit sticky, but I don't mind that. One sample is enough for my face and neck.

After I used the first 30 samples, my skin…

Review: Naruko Tea tree shine control & blemish clear night gelly

As I am writing this blog post, I glance at the empty tub of the Naruko Tea tree night gelly ( that is the actual spelling on the tub)  I can't bare to throw it away yet. I absolutely loved using it.

But before I tell you anything else about this product, I must tell you this:  This was the best smelling skin care product I have ever used. I bet you are surprised. After all it is called a Tea tree night gelly and as we know tea tree doesn't smell nice at all. But this product does not smell of tea tree oil. Ok, may be there is just a hint of tea tree, but a nice smelling one. To be precise, the gelly smells like a fresh spring morning: crisp and cool, delicately scented as snowdrops  and with a gentle hint of mint. That's why I can't bare to throw away the empty tub yet, I keep on sniffing it...

The gelly applies smoothly and it feels very cool on the skin.  I didn't like that at first because I prefer skin care products that feel warm or at least not cool. But I go…
