Review: Dr. Jart+ Pore refine, Re-Tighten Mask

This is the best clay mask I have ever used

Everything about this mask is elegant, from the presentation of the product to its effectiveness.

And I am not surprised, we are talking about one of Korea's most respected brands- Dr.Jart+

I love this mask because it purifies my pores gently. What do I mean by that? Some clay masks pull the skin when they start to dry, but not this mask. Even when it starts to dry, it is still comfortable on the skin. When it begins to dry on the skin, it feels like a thick nourishing cream, not like an ordinary clay mask.

I love this mask because it is a very attractive colour- light grey with a hint of light blue. After I apply it I feel like a lady, not a camouflaged solder...

I love this mask because even its scent is elegant. Fresh, but not overwhelming. Actually, the scent reminds me of the scent of Lancome skincare products-super luxurious.

I love this mask because it is very easy to wash it off and it leaves my skin calm and radiant.

The mask is supposed to deep cleanse, control excess sebum and tighten pores. I never expected it to tighten my pores, but I was hoping it would purify my skin when it may be a bit congested.

My expectations were met.

I have not had any serious blemishes for months and I believe that this mask has contributed to my current skin health.

In addition to the natural clay which is the main ingredient, the other ingredients are very well known for their skin balancing properties: Sage, Rosemary extracts, Gall extract and Witch Hazel.

Here is the full list of ingredients:

Aqua (Water), Kaolin, Bentonite, Glycerin, Alcohol Denat., Cetearyl Alcohol, Zea Mays (Corn Starch), Butylene Glycol, Polysorbate 80, Palmitic Acid, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Leaf Extract, Stearic Acid, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Rhus Semialata Gall Extract, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Leaf Extract, Sorbitan Laurate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Dimethicone, Methylparaben, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Parfum (Fragrance), Dipropylene Glycol, Citral, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Alpha Isomethyl Ionone, Linalool, Hydroxycitronella, Limonene, Citronellol, Disodium EDTA, 1,2-Hexanediol, Citric Acid, Xanthan Gum.

I bought the mask from eBay together with  a V7 Renewal serum for under £8 ( It was in a SALE hence the price). A review of the serum is coming up next.

Till next time, Milu

Galactomyces & Bifidalacto Complex products+ Several UPDATES

Did I like using Manyo Factory Galactomyces niacin?

No. I will not repurchase Manyo Factory Galactomycesniacin again.

UPDATE:31/08/17 It has been 7 months since I wrote this post and in that time I've learnt that Niacin is a very well researched skin loving ingredient. I will be purchasing products containing Niacin :-) and hoping it will "shrink" my pores.

UPDATE:28/11/2017 As mentioned in my previous update, I wanted to try a Niacin product and I chose Dr.Troub Skin Returning Niaten serum with 10% Niacinamide. I've been using it for 2 weeks now and so far so good. I think my pores look more refined, but it could be my wishful thinking that is tricking my eyes. Sadly, this product is only 30ml and at almost £20, I would not be repurchasing it. I hear that The Ordinary have a nice Niacinamide serum and cheaper.

Observations about applying the product and how it felt on the skin

Applying it (Manyo Factory Galactomycesniacin) felt like applying water. No scent, no colour,…

Best calming cream for acne prone skin- Sulwhasoo Herblinic EX Restorative Ampoules review

I first heard about the Sulwhasoo range from one of my favourite Youtubers- Lili. Her blog title is I am a beauty junky and that is also the name of her YouTube channel. I don't remember her reviewing the Herblinic EX Restorative Ampoules but when I researched several Sulwhasoo products she talked about, I found a couple of reviews on Herblinic and was intrigued enough to order samples from Ebay.  I bought 30 samples and they lasted me 15 days ( using them day and night).

From the very first application, my skin was nourished like never before. I could tell that this was one amazing product.

This honey like cream/serum is apparently packed with medicinal herbs which are said to  help nourish and  repair damaged skin. It smells herby and to me that scent is calming. It looks like honey but it spreads easily and little goes a long way. The application can be a bit sticky, but I don't mind that. One sample is enough for my face and neck.

After I used the first 30 samples, my skin…

Review: Naruko Tea tree shine control & blemish clear night gelly

As I am writing this blog post, I glance at the empty tub of the Naruko Tea tree night gelly ( that is the actual spelling on the tub)  I can't bare to throw it away yet. I absolutely loved using it.

But before I tell you anything else about this product, I must tell you this:  This was the best smelling skin care product I have ever used. I bet you are surprised. After all it is called a Tea tree night gelly and as we know tea tree doesn't smell nice at all. But this product does not smell of tea tree oil. Ok, may be there is just a hint of tea tree, but a nice smelling one. To be precise, the gelly smells like a fresh spring morning: crisp and cool, delicately scented as snowdrops  and with a gentle hint of mint. That's why I can't bare to throw away the empty tub yet, I keep on sniffing it...

The gelly applies smoothly and it feels very cool on the skin.  I didn't like that at first because I prefer skin care products that feel warm or at least not cool. But I go…
